این یک نمونه حداقلی از نامه Dean است برگرفته از Letter of standing دانشگاه هاروارد) که البته بعضی دانشکده ها در ایران شاید بعضی از بخشهای این متن را هم حذف کنند:
To whom it may concern;
The purpose of this letter is to verify X is (was) enrolled as a full-time student in good standing at Mashhad school of dental medicine. He matriculated in … and is currently (was) enrolled in our DDS degree program. It is anticipated that X will be awarded (X was awarded) the DDS degree on X upon completion of all his requirements and successful defense of his thesis entitled “…”.

اگر رتبه کلاسی دارید، مثلا 5 درصد یا 10 درصد بالای کلاس هستید، میتوانید این جمله را به این شکل تغییر دهید:
…X is enrolled as a full-time student in good standing and a top 10% student in his class of 50 at Y School of Dental Medicine…
لازم به ذکر هست که سایتهای PASS و CAAPID و همچنین بعضی دانشکده ها، فرمهای مخصوصی دارند برای Dean Letter که میتوانید از رئیس دانشکده بخواهید که آنها را پر کنند. اگر بهر دلیلی نشد، یک نامه استاندارد مثل نمونه ای که اینجا آوردم، بعنوان جایگزین کفایت میکند.
